Managing the Playing Field, Sports Pavilion and adventure playground on behalf of local communities.
Dowlish Wake Playing Field Trust is a registered Charity (Reg No 267600), and exists to benefit the community of Dowlish Wake and the surrounding villages by maintaining the facilities at the Playing Field in the village which was originally donated by Lawrence Kellet in 1973. The Charity owns and manages this facility for the local communities which includes, not only local villages, but many families from Chard and Ilminster.

Lawrence Kellett's legacy
Dowlish Wake owes an enormous debt to a local man who donated the Playing Field to the village. The Lawrence Kellett Playing Field Trust and was established in 1973 when local resident Lawrence Kellett bought several parcels of land and put them together to create one large playing field which was landscaped to give large areas which were broadly level. The first pavilion was also erected.
